Flowers from my garden
Blue Hydrangeas, Red Monarda, White Teapot
OIl on canvas mounted to panel
16 " x 20 "
2016

This painting is a continuation of a theme I was exploring all summer - flowers in a white teapot against the white wall of my studio. The bright light of summer makes the teapot almost dissolve into the background, making the flowers and the light the focal point of the painting. To me, it's a more abstract vision of still life because it is not totally "object" focused.
